Hey there!
We are Sarah and Gary Vander Wiele, owners of Wayside Coffee Co.! We've been married for 7 years, have 5 awesome kiddos and two pups. We have been talking about opening a place that builds community over a genuinely good cup of coffee for what feels like forever. After years of "just talking about it", we finally took the plunge and Wayside was born. We are coffee people full of excitement about sharing our love of coffee with Friendswood and the surrounding Houston area.

Hey everyone. My coffee journey started in college and developed into a longing to make the perfect drink. If you know me, it won’t come as a surprise that I have a stack of coffee books on my nightstand. My dream is to make a cup of black coffee so good that non-coffee drinkers want to drink it too.
I'm a hard-worker (my wife wrote this lol), an avid disc golfer, reader, and incredible dad to 5 humans and 2 fur pups. I give 100% into everything I do (again...wife) and the same will be true with every cup of coffee I serve you. Make sure to come say hi and remember, it’s Gary, not Jerry. 😂

Hey y'all! I started drinking coffee about ten years ago out of “necessity” in college…but realized the true need after 5 kids. Just because it’s a need, doesn’t mean it can’t taste amazing. I have been carefully crafting pour overs for years and testing out the very best coffee all around.
Ultimately, I'll be more behind the scenes making awesome graphics and merch for Wayside, keeping with my day job at a local church, and keeping all the kiddos alive and well, but you’ll still see me in the trailer now and again. I'm super excited to spread joy through excellent coffee. ❤️
